Gain Professional Experience
Internships give School of Media and Communication students an opportunity to gain professional experience, build their portfolios and make connections in their field. Students in all majors are encouraged to pursue internships.

Internship for experience
Students may complete internships independently without earning academic credit. You
are responsible for finding and arranging the internship.
Internship for credit
Students may earn up to six credit hours through two internships completed during
different semesters or summer sessions.
Earn Internship Credit
To receive academic credit, you must:
- Have at least a 2.0 GPA.
- Attend an internship information session.
- Receive permission from your academic adviser.
- Submit the internship application by the required deadline.
- Have the internship approved before it begins.
