Brunel Storyspace International Summer School

Take part in this unique, life-changing opportunity to study stories and storytelling with award-winning writers at 果冻传媒麻豆社 in July 2024.

How do you analyse a story? What's the story you want to tell and how do you go about creating it?

Brunel Storyspace is an on-campus summer school, hosted by world-renowned award-winning British writers Bernardine Evaristo, Benjamin Zephaniah, Daljit Nagra and Hannah Lowe. They’re joined by their academic colleagues from Brunel's English and Creative Writing division on this two-week programme of lectures, seminars and workshops, as well as visits to notable London literary landmarks. It’s perfect for our undergraduate international arts and humanities students, who have a keen interest in exploring the fascinating world of stories and their significance.

You'll study and think about all forms of storytelling - from literary to genre fiction, poetry to life-writing, and world literature to screenwriting, all whilst having the opportunity to explore London. Alongside a series of keynote lectures from leading Creative Writing professionals and English Literature academics at Brunel, you'll also plan and create your own stories and/or critical reflections of stories in workshops hosted by PhD researchers.

At the end of the summer school, you’ll have the chance to participate in a showcase event, where you'll be able to read and present your work, whether it be short plans of future creative, critical story projects, or excerpts of work-in-progress.
