Bio

Dr. Kari Smith Murphy is an Assistant Professor of Educational Research and Administration at ¹û¶³´«Ã½Â鶹Éç, where she teaches in the Educational Administration program. Before entering higher education, she spent nearly a decade in K-12 education as a classroom teacher, coach, and administrator. Her research focuses on teacher workload, burnout, and retention, particularly the policies and working conditions that shape educators’ experiences. A native Georgian and first-generation college graduate, she now lives in Mississippi with her husband, Blake, a fellow educator, their son, Landon, and their three dogs.
