Dr. Cat Poehling

Bio
Dr. Catherine Poehling is an Assistant Professor of Social Work at the University of Southern Mississippi whose research advances equitable, community-based mental health services for survivors of intimate partner violence and other underserved populations. Her work integrates implementation science, mixed methods research, and community-engaged partnerships to improve the reach, quality, and sustainability of trauma-informed mental health care, with additional scholarship in reproductive justice and health equity. A licensed clinical social worker and Somatic Experiencing Practitioner, she brings extensive clinical expertise in complex trauma to her research, teaching, and interdisciplinary collaborations. Her work has been supported through federal and state-funded initiatives and has been presented nationally across social work, public health, and behavioral health disciplines.
